Giving Thanks!

One of things I believe in is Appreciation. I think that you should always show that you appreciate someone for all that they do. Show them that you could not do it without them.

Too many times people are not given credit for the amount of hard work they do. Those that are really behind the successful people, establishments, and organizations are not given the praise that they deserve. Not even a Thank You.

For this reason, I want to dedicate a portion of my blog to those that keep this great university running. To the people that do not receive praise. The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill is known for its athletics, distinguished academics, and amazing professors that come from all over. It is never known to show the “behind the scenes” people that keep the university afloat. What about those that keep this university really running, in even the smallest ways? For example, what about the workers of the dining halls? What about the people that help the traffic on South Road? What about the librarians that dedicate their time to helping us have the resources needed to succeed at this university? What about the people behind these great organizations that bring students to this campus? What about all of those “little people” that contribute to this amazing place?

I want to give thanks to the people that have made things possible at UNC. Those that are not recognized on television or the media outlets every week. To do this, I will occasionally feature a photo and blog post about someone that I think is important to this university. Someone that I think needs to be recognized.

Someone has to start giving the appreciation that is deserved!
